IWFM in Facilities Management - Level 6 Certificate

30 Credits

Overview

Level 6 Certificate is for those and who which to gain a qualification to support the experience gained in facilities management.

The IWFM Level 6 Diploma is a 30-credit qualification made up of one mandatory unit with a credit value of 10 and optional units with a combined value of at least 20 credits taking approximately 9 months to complete.

This is a very challenging course which is designed to reflect the ability and skills of facilities managers who are responsible for multiple sites and supervising teams of people involved in building and refurbishing complex sites.

Learners may need to develop new skills, such as advanced analysis, communication and a range of presentation methods. Learners will also need good reporting writing skills, be able to undertake research and evaluate concepts and models. Learners will be expected to have access to IT and Internet for their research and course work. Learners are also expected to read extensively across the facilities management press, and industry websites in order to keep up to date and quote recent and relevant examples in their assessments.

The workshops will focus on both subject information and skills necessary to complete the assessments. Attending all of the college sessions will generally not be sufficient for individuals to successfully complete the course programme or individual units.

Learners must expect to frequently allocate a significant amount of their own time in order to research, prepare, edit, finalise and submit assessments in order to be successful. It suggested that a minimum of 5 hours per week is required, plus additional time for the actual assessment writing. For each unit of study, an in-depth assessment report is required – this document may be 5000 to 8000 words in length. At present IWFM have set a word count of 1000 words per credit.

Whilst there is a flexible time limit of 2 years to complete all the assessments at Level 6, it is expected that learners will complete assessments during the course delivery sessions. It is recommended that learners make best use of the resources provided during the course to complete each unit assessment within a couple of months of the tuition period. All assessments must be completed with the IWFM 2-year registration period.

The cost is £2750 including IWFM qualification registration. Read more....
